I was born and raised in Quebec, Canada, and a dozen years ago I met a wonderful woman from Mexico online. That was at a time where things like those were still uncommon, and that day changed both our lives completely. Some years later, in the fall of 2000, we got married and lived for a while in the wilds of the Laurentien Mountains in Quebec, at the edge of a beautiful lake, until we made the huge decision to move to Mexico City, one of the largest cities in the world.
The shock of moving from the outskirts of a small village (~1000 in population) to a town with more than 20 millions people was great, but the human soul is resistant and I adapted. Some friends call me Sassquatch from my furry and imposing presence, so this place will be my little corner of the web to share some of my experiences and some of my more creative work.
Since the early days I have had a presence on the Internet in one form or another for my various businesses, and more recently with my food and wine blog. I wanted for a long time to have a more personal presence where I could post some works that I had written in the past.
I used to write a lot of fiction, and most of it has been sitting in storage for ages. I finally decided to do something about it and I will publish some of it here in serial form. I also plan to write new stories as I found a few dozen story outlines that I had written ages ago when I was actively writing fiction. I still write a lot, but these days it is mostly business proposals, correspondence, product reviews, and technical documentation. A change of pace is definitely in order. I also plan to write about whatever subject comes to my mind, whenever I feel like it as I need an outlet for my creative side.
I have a wealth of experience on many different subjects and over the course of the years I have worked as a shop assistant, an assistant machinist, a draftsman, a blaster in an mine in the arctic, a gunsmith, a dental technician, a dentist, a food and wine consultant, a technical writer, and these days I write business and kiosk software, toil as the CTO of a technology startup, and I am the owner/operator of a consulting business. I also do technology, business, motivational, food and wine, and lifestyle conferences. Have a look here to have an idea about what I do these days.
As you can see I cannot keep my life focused on a single thing for long, so this site, like me, will be going in a variety of directions all at once.
Welcome to my lair, and I hope that you will get out of it as much as I intend to put in it.
The Sass
